Privacy Policy
Effective July 8, 2026
Simplitory ("Simplitory," "we," "us," or "our") provides inventory-management software. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website and app at simplitory.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep this in plain language on purpose.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details. When you create a business, we collect your email address, a display name, and a password. Passwords are handled and stored in encrypted form by our authentication provider (Google Firebase) — we never see or store your raw password.
- Team members. When you invite staff, we store the username or name and role you assign them so they can sign in and you can manage access.
- Your inventory data. The items, locations, counts, quantities, suppliers, costs, and history you enter into the app. This is your business data — we store it to provide the service to you.
- Messages you send us. If you email support, we keep that correspondence to help you.
- Billing information. When you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is handled by our payment processor, Stripe. Stripe collects and stores your card and billing details under its own privacy policy — we never receive or store your full card number. We do receive limited billing information, such as your plan, subscription status, billing period, and the brand and last four digits of your card, so we can manage your subscription and access.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and device data. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site and app are used — pages visited, general device and browser type, and approximate location derived from your IP address. This uses cookies and similar technologies.
- Log and technical data. Our hosting and backend providers automatically record standard technical information such as IP address and access times for security and reliability.
2. How we use your information
- To provide, operate, and sync the service across your devices and your team.
- To secure accounts, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot problems.
- To understand usage and improve the product.
- To communicate with you about your account, updates, or support requests.
We do not sell your personal information or your business's inventory data, and we do not use your inventory data for advertising.
3. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies for two purposes: keeping you signed in, and understanding usage through Google Analytics. You can control or clear cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's opt-out browser add-on. Blocking analytics cookies will not affect your ability to use the app.
4. Service providers
We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run Simplitory. They process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments:
- Google Firebase (Authentication and Firestore database) — stores your account and inventory data.
- Google Analytics — usage measurement.
- Netlify — website and app hosting.
- Stripe — payment processing for paid subscriptions. Stripe handles your payment card and billing details under its own privacy policy.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the service.
5. Your data, your control
Your business owns the inventory data it enters. You can view and edit it at any time in the app, export it to a spreadsheet, and request that we delete your account and associated data. To make a request, email us at the address below.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you close your account or request deletion, we will delete or anonymize your data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it by law.
7. Security
We protect your data in transit with encryption (HTTPS) and enforce server-side access rules so that each business can only reach its own data. No method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, but we work to protect your information and keep our providers' security current. We also recommend you keep your own periodic exports of important records.
8. Children
Simplitory is a business tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we do, we will revise the "Effective" date above and, for significant changes, make a reasonable effort to notify you.
